Beach Volleyball Falls to Oregon and No. 19 Arizona State

Utes Take on Washington and USC on Sunday
LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The Utah beach volleyball team took on Oregon and No. 19 Arizona State in the first day of the Pac-12 South Tournament.

The Utes dropped both contests by a 4-1 score against Oregon and 5-0 score to Arizona State.

In their first match of the day against Oregon, Utah got off to a good start winning the first match as Keana Smalls and Mckenna Granato earned the win. They got it done in straight sets winning it 21-18 and 21-15.

The rest of the matches were really close with Utah's second pair taking it to a third set. After dropping the first set, Lauren Sproule and Jessica Villela won the second set 21-17, but Oregon rallied to take the third set 15-10.

Leah Schmidt and Sommer Daniel took Oregon to extra points in the first set and fell in the second set 21-18.

In Utah's second match of the day, Arizona State took control of the match early and never let up taking the match 5-0.

The Utes will have two more matches tomorrow, taking on Washington at 10 a.m. and USC at 3:30 p.m.
