Each Earned Wins to Start the Season
SALT LAKE CITY – After a successful first weekend, Utah had two skiers named the RMISA Skier of the Meet honors.
Gustav Vøllo won after sweeping both races in the giant slalom and Madison Hoffman earned the honor after winning the first race and finishing fourth in the second race in the slalom races.
After Vøllo swept the two giant slalom races on Monday, they were his second and third career podium in his career at Utah.
For Hoffman, it was the freshman's first slalom race with Utah, so getting the win was special.
"It felt really good to put down two solid runs and get the win in the first race," Hoffman said after the race. "It's nice knowing that all the hard work in training is paying off."
Skiers can only win the award once a season and the award is given to the skier with the best combined finish in races at an invitational.
