CHARLESTON, S.C. – Utah women's tennis player
Madeline Lamoreaux opened up play at the ITA All-American Championship on Monday morning.Â
Â
"Madeline played quality tennis today against a good player," Head Coach
Ric Mortera stated. "Certainly, some great match situations for us to learn from and overall a good battle for Madeline to start her fall season. We are looking forward to continuing to work on some adjustments with her game."
Â
Lamoreaux participated in the qualifying draw where she was matched up against her opponent, Ahmeir Kyle from Xavier University. Kyle is ranked 100th in the ITA singles rankings.
Â
The Ute came out and won the first six 6-4 over Kyle. However, Lamoreaux couldn't win one of the following two sets, 4-6, 2-6, and would fall to Kyle in three sets.Â
