Utes in the Pros: Week 15 Preview, Week 14 Recap

SALT LAKE CITY – It's week 15 in the NFL and all teams have now complete their bye week. Three weeks remain after the conclusion of this weekends slate and the playoff picture looks like it will come down to the wire. Six teams in the AFC are still in the hunt with three of them sitting just outside the picture while the NFC is a six-team race for the last two spots.
18 former Utes will take the field for their respective teams this weekend. Former Ute defensive end, Nate Orchard, just signed with the Washington Football Team this week from the Green Bay practice squad. Orchard, who's played six years in the NFL, hasn't seen game action in 2021 but is listed as active heading into Washington's crucial matchup on the road against Philadelphia as they hang on to the final playoff spot by a thread.
Baltimore quarterback Lamar Jackson is expected to start this weekend against the Green Bay Packers but did leave last weeks game early with an injury. If the injury continues to bother Jackson, Tyler Huntley could see a lot of playing time. Huntley has been nothing short of spectacular this season as the backup. In the four games Huntley's appeared in, he's completed 58 passes for 528 yards and one touchdown. Huntley has also made use of his speed rushing for 95 yards on 16 attempts.
In week 15, two games will feature former Utes battling it out on the gridiron. After suffering a tough division loss on Monday Night Football, Leki Fotu and the Arizona Cardinals (10-3) look to get back in the win column as they visit John Penisini and the Detroit Lions (1-11-1) on Sunday.
Cody Barton and the Seattle Seahawks (5-8) travel to southern California for a tough division matchup against Matt Gay and the LA Rams (9-4). The Rams are coming off a gutsy win against Arizona of Monday night and still sit firm with the fifth playoff spot in the NFC.

Four former Utes earned starting nods for their respective teams in week 14. Los Angeles Rams safety Terrell Burgess started his second game of the season, collecting one tackle in the win against Arizona.
Matt Gay continues his stellar play going 4-4 in extra points, 3-3 in field goals and kicking a season long 55-yard field goal to contribute to the Rams win over the Cardinals. Â
Tyler Huntley had a huge day, taking over the quarterback duties as Lamar Jackson left the game with an injury. Entering the game early in the second quarter down 10-0, Huntley had some work in front of him to lead a comeback. Completing 27 of his 38 passes for 270 yards and throwing his first touchdown of his career, the Ravens fell just short in their comeback effort against the Browns, losing 24-22. Huntley added 45 more yards on the ground with six carries.
