Utah women's tennis will hit the road for a pair of matches this week, beginning the road swing against No. 24 Texas A&M on Friday, Feb. 12, in College Station, Texas. First serve between Utah and Texas A&M is set for 2 p.m. MT at the Mitchell Tennis Center. Fans can follow the action via the free

Utah will then make the short trip to take on Houston at the Barbara Wallace Winston Tennis Facility on Sunday, Feb. 14. First serve for the Utes will be at 10 a.m. MT to close out the road trip.
STARTING STRONG
The Utes wrapped up the first home stretch of the season going 3-0 to start the year. Utah dominated the 2021 season opener over Idaho State, sweeping the Bengals 7-0 to get the dual season underway. Last week, the Utes tallied a 5-0 win over New Mexico State to begin the weekend and followed with a 4-2 win against Weber State at the Eccles Tennis Center. The Utes are 14-1 in singles play this year and have three Utes –
Lindsay Hung,
Anastasia Goncharova, and
Anya Lamoreaux - with three singles wins each to lead the team.

SCOUTING TEXAS A&M
Texas A&M is 6-2 this season with the pair of losses coming from then-ranked No. 2 UCLA (0-4) and No. 20 Baylor (2-5). The Aggies entered the top-25 in the latest ITA/Oracle poll and sit at No. 24 entering the match with Utah. Texas A&M beat Washington State 4-1 early in the year and have posted notable wins against SMU (4-0) and TCU (4-3). Jayci Goldsmith has a team-high five dual wins in singles play primarily seeing action on court two. Tatiana Makarova plays in the top spot for Texas A&M, while Makarova and Goldsmith team up as the No. 1 doubles team as well.Â

SCOUTING HOUSTON
Houston is 4-2 to begin the spring season and has wins that include a 5-2 victory over UT San Antonio and 6-1 win over Texas State. Mimi Kendall-Woseley plays as the No. 1 singles and Sophie Gerits holds the No. 2 position steady for the Cougars. Houston returns eight letterwinners from the shortened 2020 season. Kendall-Woseley, Phonexay Chitdara, and Stephanie Belovukovic combined to go 29-11 last year. Chitdara has seen time primarily at the No. 3 position and Belovukovic at No. 5 and No. 6.
LAST TIME OUT
Utah hosted New Mexico State and Weber State, posting 5-0 and 4-2 wins, respectively. The Utes picked up the doubles point quickly over NMSU and singles play was all Utah. Four Utes collected straight set wins with no opponent winning more than two games in a set. The Utes then capped off the weekend with a win against Weber State. Despite dropping the doubles point, Utah bounced back in singles play when
Emily Dush and
Lindsay Hung kicked off the team with a pair of wins. Weber State tied the match 2-2, but
Anastasia Goncharova and
Anya Lamoreaux pulled through to clinch the 4-2 win.

UP NEXT
Utah will return to the Eccles Tennis Center next Friday, Feb. 19, to host Dixie State at 1 p.m. MT. Then on Saturday, Feb. 20, the Utes will face Boise State at 1 p.m. MT before hitting the road the following week.
