Junior Cornerback JaTravis Broughton On the community and fan base excitement heading into the Rose Bowl Game…
"Definitely. The way they showed up for the Pac-12 Championship, I know every time it's a big occasion, the Utes fan are going to show out and come out for us…It's a loving fan base. I know they're here for us."
Senior Defensive End Gabe Reid On playing this season alongside his brother, Karene Reid…
"It's been such an amazing experience for me to be able to be on the field with him…(Growing up,) we always played catch in the yard. But because I'm three years older, we didn't ever really overlap in high school. He was a freshman and dressed, but we didn't play at the same time. It's been really surreal to have this experience."
On the relatability of the Utah coaching staff to the players and vise versa…
"I would say in my own personal experience, it's a lot easier to take coaching and to trust coaches when they've been in your shoes. And that's the case for the majority of the coaching staff. They've all either played here or played somewhere else in the conference. It's really comforting to know these guys have our best interests at heart. They really do know what it's like to be in our shoes."
On opportunities for guys to step up this time of year…
"I think it's a great opportunity. As someone who's finishing out my college career, one of the biggest pieces of advice I could give to guys in college football is that you never know when your opportunity is coming. Bowl games, a lot of guys opt out. It's a great time for guys to step up. And we have that mentality here—it's next man up. It's exciting. There's not a drop-off. We have a lot of depth. We're excited. We're going to miss the guys who can't be with us on the field but I think we're ready."
