SEATTLE – The Utah track & field team had a solid start to the weekend at the Pac-12 Invitational running a handful of new PRs while also improving times in the all-time record book.
Â
Ruby Jane Mathewson and
Bailey Kealamakia kicked things off for Utah on the track, posting times of 9.03 and 9.10, respectively, in the 60m hurdle prelims. A little later in the 60m dash,
Kelise Davis ran a PR time of 7.73 and moved up into sixth spot in the all-time record books. Freshman
Megan Rose also ran a new personal best time in her heat and moved into a tie for 10th in the school record books with Jazmin Dickey (7.89).
Â
Like her teammates,
Kelise Davis posted a new personal best time in the 200m dash with a mark of 24.77. Davis' new PR improved her time in the all-time record book but was just short of passing
Maya LeBar (24.71). Kealamakia also recorded a new PR in the 200m and just edged her previous time (25.71) with a finish of 25.62. Rose closed out the trio of Utes competing in the 200m with a time of 26.65, just .15 from her PR.
Â
Cara Woolnough took second in the 5000m race behind a new PR time 15:52.25 and improved her mark in the school record books like Davis.
