Devin Lloyd Selected In First Round Of 2022 NFL Draft To Jacksonville

LAS VEGAS – Utah linebacker Devin Lloyd was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the first round with the 27th overall pick of the 2022 NFL Draft on Thursday night, becoming Utah's ninth first round selection in program history.
Lloyd is Utah's highest pick since 2017 (Garett Bolles, No. 20 to Denver) and is the eighth linebacker taken in the draft in the Kyle Whittingham Era. He is the highest-drafted linebacker in program history, and is Utah's second player chosen by the Jaguars in NFL Draft history (Curtis Marsh, 1995, 7th round).
The Chula Vista, Calif., native played in 47 career games at Utah with 32 starts, earning 10 career All-America honors. He became Utah's 10th consensus All-American in 2021 after earning eight first-team selections, also being named the Pac-12 Pat Tillman Defensive Player of the Year.
In his time at Utah, he recorded 43 career tackles for loss to rank fourth in program history, notching at least one tackle for loss in 18 of his final 22 games. He is also one of just six Utes all-time with three-plus career pick-sixes.
The three-time All-Pac-12 selection and two-time Butkus Award finalist was a five-time national player of the week honoree in 2021, also earning three Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week recognitions. He ranked third in the Pac-12 with 110 tackles and third in the FBS in tackles for loss (22.0) while his eight sacks led all Pac-12 linebackers to rank second overall.
His four interceptions in 2021 led all FBS linebackers, returning two for touchdowns, making him the only Power Five linebacker with multiple pick-sixes. He also graded out at 90-plus three separate times in 2021 by PFF, which led all linebackers nationally.
