LOS ANGELES – Utah Volleyball picked up its first road win of the year after sweeping UCLA (25-17, 25-18, 25-22) at Pauley Pavilion on Sunday afternoon. Three Utes recorded double-digit kills in the win, highlighted by
Kamry Bailey's second career double-double.
Viktoria Wahlgren also posted a career-high six aces.

Utah and UCLA swapped runs of points to start the first set, but it was Utah's 5-0 run that set back UCLA for good. The Utes pulled ahead 10-7 after the five-straight points, and despite the Bruins cutting the score to just 13-11 shortly after, the Utes managed to outscore the Bruins 8-2 to take a 21-13 lead. Utah went on to win 25-17 behind
Amelia Van Der Werff's hot-hitting in the first set where she recorded five kills with zero errors.
Kamry Bailey also provided a spark with four kills and five digs to lead the team to a first-set win.

Utah picked up right where it left off and jumped out to a 7-0 lead.
Viktoria Wahlgren recorded four aces in five points to start the set for the Utes. After three-straight points extended the Ute lead to 12-2, UCLA scored five of the next six points to cut the lead to six. Utah responded with three unanswered points to force UCLA into its final timeout of the set, trailing 16-7.

Utah was able to put together a 6-1 run to continue the momentum and lead 24-14. After a 4-0 run from the Bruins, Van Der Werff shut down the run and ended the set 25-18 with her 10
th kill of the match, marking the first player on either side to reach double figure kills in the match. She posted five kills on five swings in the second set.

The Utes continued to control the match as they took a commanding 12-6 lead to start the third set, which included six kills from
Emrie Satuala. The Bruins chipped away at the Ute lead and later forced Utah to call timeout after cutting the lead to just 15-12. Van Der Werff ended the UCLA run out of the break, which was followed by a Bruin attack error to gain a five-point lead back.

Utah managed to later lead 22-16 in the third set, but a late comeback effort from UCLA put pressure on Utah. The Bruins scored three of the next four points to trail 23-20, before Van Der Werff gave Utah set point. Consecutive points from UCLA cut the lead to 24-22, but Utah ended the match out of a timeout with a kill from Bailey, winning 25-22. Satuala recorded eight kills in the final set on nine swings and Wahlgren tallied 16 assists.

Van Der Werff led the group with a season-high 13 kills and no errors (.650), while Bailey added 11 kills and 11 digs. Satuala posted the second-straight match of double-digit kills after tallying 10 kills on Sunday. Wahlgren dished out 39 assists to go with her six aces, and
Vanessa Ramirez totaled 12 digs to lead the defense.
Kamryn Gibadlo also added eight kills on .412 hitting.

Utah returns to the Huntsman Center to host Oregon State and Oregon next Friday, Oct. 6, and Sunday, Oct. 8. The Utes welcome Oregon State for Fairy Tale Friday with first serve at 7 p.m. MT on the Pac-12 Network. Utah closes out the weekend on Sunday for its Power in Pink match against Oregon at 12 p.m. MT. The match will be live streamed.
