VERONA, Wisc. – Freshman
Anna Peters once again paced the 20th-ranked Utah cross country team to a 15th-place finish on Friday at a stacked Nuttycombe Invitational that saw 22 of the top-30 ranked teams in the country compete on the Zimmer Championship Course.

Peters continues to lead as Utah's top runner this season with the freshman crossing the finish line first in 23rd-overall with a PR time of 20:24.1 on a very rainy and windy day in Wisconsin. The Post Falls, Idaho, native first hit the 2k marker in 44th and jumped 16 spots to No. 28 at the 4k marker before passing five more runners to finish in 23rd for her third-straight top-25 finish.
McKaylie Caesar was Utah's second scorer on the morning when she hit the 6k marker with a time of 20:54.9 for 76th overall. The grad transfer had a strong finish in the final 2k of the race, cutting her split by nearly 15 seconds down the stretch to jump two spots.
Katarzyna Nowakowska was the third Utah runner to finish the race and checked in at 21:02.3 for a new 6k PR. The freshman made a strong move after the 2k marker jumping from 149th to 97th by the time she hit the 4000m mark and held steady at 97th through the tape.
Morgan Jensen had a great finish to the meet after getting stuck at the start to finish in 112th with a time of 21:10.8. The Utahn first jumped 59 spots at the 4000m distance before passing another 22 runners in the final 2k thanks to her cutting her split by nearly 20 seconds.
Clara Mayfield was right on Jensen's heels down the stretch, finishing in 115th-overall with a time of 21:13.1 as Utah's fifth and final scorer.
Karli Branch later crossed the finish-line at 21:39.1 before freshman
Kyla Martin posted a time of 21:43.7 in her collegiate debut.
Ellie Lundgreen rounded things out for Utah in the championship race with a mark of 22:28.2.

The Women of Utah return home to host the annual Utah Open next Thursday, Oct. 18, at Sunnyside Park beginning with the women's race at 1 p.m. (MT) and followed by the men's race. The Utes then head north to the PNW for the Pac-12 Championships at Chambers Bay Golf Course on Friday, Oct. 27, with a 12:10 p.m. (MT) scheduled gun start.
