SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah cross country team will host its lone meet of the season ahead of schedule this season and welcome in teams this Friday, Sept. 12, for the Beehive Invitational at Sugar House Park starting with the women's race at 10 a.m. (MST) followed by the men's race at 10:45 a.m.

Utah will have eight runners compete in its lone meet of the season.
Madi Hulsey and
Claire Le Gallo will be making their debuts as Utes on Friday. Hulsey transferred in mid-season last year while Le Gallo redshirted. Meanwhile, freshman
Cloe Ruth will race in her second college meet and first in the 5k distance.
UTE DEBUTS
Utah had a trio of Utes either make their collegiate debut or cross country debut on Aug. 29 when they competed at the UVU Invitational.
Millie Wilcox, who spent the last three seasons on the sprints side, made her debut as a runner on the cross country course to lead the Utes – finishing third-overall with a time of 17:16.03 on the 3 mile course.
Freshman
Cloe Ruth made her collegiate debut by finishing eighth-overall after crossing the finish line at 17:40.12 while
Allie Bruce made her cross country debut for the Utes in 15th.
SIX UTES HONORED BY BIG 12
The Big 12 Conference named six Utes to the list of Dr. Gerald Lage Academic Achievement Award recipients. Annie Ivins,
Lindsey Peters,
Bri Rinn, Megan Rose, Chloe Shewell and
Erin Vringer were named to the list on the track & field team.
In order to be eligible for the accolade, student-athletes must have lettered at least once in their career while maintaining residence at their institution for at least one academic year. The honoree, which can only be recognized once, should have 90 hours of earned credit with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.80 at the time of the nomination.
UP NEXT
The Women of Utah will get their first real test of the season when they get a first-hand look at this year's NCAA Championships course at the Gans Creek Cross Country Course when they compete at the 7th Annual Gans Creek Classic on Friday, Sept. 26.
The women's gold invite race will go off at 8 a.m. (MST) followed by the black invite race at 9:30 a.m.
