Utes in the Pros: Week 17

SALT LAKE CITY – The NFL's penultimate week of the regular season kicks off tonight, and 15 Utah Football alumni are expected to suit up in Week 17. All told, 25 Pro Utes are on team rosters throughout the league.
Rookie linebacker Mohamoud Diabate and the Cleveland Browns are on Thursday Night Football with the New York Jets making a visit to Cleveland Browns Stadium.
Then on Sunday, nine games will feature at least one former Ute; it'll include a trio in the San Francisco-Washington game with Mitch Wishnowsky manning punting duties for 49ers, while Cody Barton and Terrell Burgess will anchor the Commanders' defense.
How to watch the Utes this week
Week 17 (players on active rosters)
Utah continues to have a pair of connections to NFL sidelines. Former Ute standout Brian Johnson continues to lead the Philadelphia Eagles offense, while Alex Whittingham is on the Kansas City Chiefs' staff as defensive quality control coach.
Three clubs with Utah ties have clinched playoff berths: in the NFC, both San Francisco and Philadelphia are battling for the No. 1 seed, while Baltimore currently has the top spot in the AFC entering a key matchup with Miami this weekend.
Recapping Week 16
Last week saw the NFL regular season debut for Las Vegas tight end Cole Fotheringham, a late add to the active roster. Fotheringham, who has since returned to the practice squad, made his first catch and picked up six yards in the Raiders' win at Kansas City.
Earlier this week, the Colts placed safety Julian Blackmon on injured reserve. Blackmon had exited last week's game at Atlanta with a shoulder injury and did not return to the contest.
