Kyle Whittingham | Head Coach On Bryson Barnes' decision to move on following the bowl game…
"He has entered the transfer portal and wants to finish the season (with us). He'll be our guy in the bowl game, and then he'll be moving on…He wants to finish what he started. He also wants to have a chance to be a starting quarterback. With Cameron Rising coming back, barring injury that would not happen here. We wish (Bryson) all the best. He gave a ton to this program, got his degree. We have a lot of gratitude for what he gave to the program and we're grateful that he's playing one last game with us."
On how the team could look personnel-wise in the bowl game…
"It'll be a different look than what you saw in the last game. We'll be missing some guys that are moving on. We're not ready to disclose that right now, but you'll see a lot of new faces in the game on the 23rd. The idea is to let the player (make that decision) on his timeframe. That's up to them."
On looking to boost certain positions in the transfer portal…
"We're looking for every position in the transfer portal that will help us win. You're always looking to make the team better. There is not a position that we would pass on if we had an opportunity to make the team better."
Bryson Barnes | QB | Jr. On his decision to move on following the bowl game…
"Being able to get some game film, and with Cam coming back, I'd like to go explore other opportunities. But I want to finish (this season) with my guys. These are the dudes I've been with since day one. Even with my decision to leave, I'm not going to leave them hanging for a bowl game. I want to finish it out with them."
On being contacted by other schools…
"I've had some, but I'm really just focusing on the bowl game."
Why was it important to play one more game with these guys?
"We're here 51 out of 52 weeks of the year. These are the guys that you grind through it with…Leaving these guys for my own personal opportunities, that doesn't sit right with me. I just want to finish what we started with the guys."
On reflecting on his time as a Ute…
"I'm going to miss it all. I'm playing (the bowl game) for my guys. At the end of the day, what I'm going to remember are the relationships that I've built and the friendships that I've made that are going to last forever. One day, I might forget the football games, but the relationships are going to stay on forever."
Jaylon Glover | RB | So. On preparing for the bowl game…
"I'm excited. Going back to Vegas, getting back into Allegiant Stadium is going to be fun. I'm excited just to go have fun with the guys and finish it off with a bang…It's going to be good going back there and striving for another victory. Today was our first time getting some looks at Northwestern. I'm feeling pretty confident and just ready to go."
What does it mean to play one more game this season?
"It's a good time to finish off with a bang. It's a good time to reflect on the season and add a little icing to the cake. For me personally, I want to just go out there, just ball and help my team win the game."
What do you see initially on tape from Northwestern?
"Big Ten. They're physical guys. They play really hard, especially on the defensive side of the ball. They fly around and they're well-coached. We've just got to be ready to go out there and execute, and go make plays."
