THE GAME
The University of Utah Lacrosse team will head to the east coast once again, taking on its second-straight Big Ten opponent with a battle at Rutgers on Saturday, March 4. The game, which will take place at SHI Stadium in Piscataway, N.J., will start at 11 a.m. MT.

The Utes fought to the final minute of the game against No. 16 Johns Hopkins on the road last week, but fell 12-8 at Homewood Field.

BRADBURY BRINGS IT ALL
Through four games, junior attackman
Tyler Bradbury leads the Utes in points (13), becoming the all-time career points leader at Utah with 114 (49 goals, 66 assists) over a span of 33 games (3.5 ppg).
• He passed former all-time points leader
Josh Stout, who had 105 points from 2019-22.
• He has scored at least one point in 20 straight games, dating back to the 2021 season, and has scored a point in 28 of his 33 career games.
• Bradbury is already the all-time record holder for career assists, sitting at 66.
• He also ranks third all-time in career goals with 49.
• This season, he ranks 23rd nationally (out of 190 players) and first in the ASUN in assists per game (2.00).
• He has 21 career games with multiple assists.
• Bradbury also has 16 career games with two-or-more goals, including in two games this season (2 vs. Marquette, 2 vs. Vermont).
• He set the school record for single-season points in 2022 (62), and with 13 through four games with 10 remaining, he is on track to break the record again.
WHEN HYDE SHOOTS, HE SCORES
Junior attackman
Jordan Hyde has scored 69 goals through 29 career games, averaging 2.4 goals per game. He ranks second all-time in goals at Utah, needing six more to pass
Josh Stout (74 from 2019-22) and set a new school record.
• He leads the team in goals so far this season, finding the back of the net nine times. He scored 40 goals in 2022, which ranked second all-time at Utah in single-season goals scored.
• Through four games in 2023, he has scored multiple goals in three, including hat tricks against Denver (2/4/23) and Vermont (2/18/23).
• He has 20 career games with multiple goals.
• He has scored in 10 straight games, dating back to Utah's game at Cleveland State on April 9, 2022.
• He currently ranks fifth in the ASUN and 53rd nationally in shot percentage (.429).
• Hyde has yet to dip below 40-percent on his shots on goal percentage this season, including his season high of 80-percent against Denver (4 shots on goal, 3 goals).
STICKY STICK
Senior defenseman
Samuel Cambere is known for being a menace on defense, ranking first all-time in career caused turnovers (77) and second in ground balls (209).
• He has recorded at least one ground ball in all 50 games he has appeared in.
• Cambere holds the top-two single-season numbers for caused turnovers, setting the school record in 2022 (28) and 2019 (20).
• His season-high three caused turnovers against Marquette this year was the 22nd time in his career he has posted two-or-more CTOs in a game.
NEWCOMER IN THE NET
True freshman goalkeeper
Colin Lenskold earned the starting spot this season with the Utes currently being the only ASUN program with a starting freshman goalkeeper. Through four games, Lenskold has 52 saves with a 13.28 goals against average.
• Out of the 82 goalkeepers ranked in NCAA Division I men's lacrosse in saves per game, Lenskold ranks 20th, averaging 13.00.
• His 13.00 saves per game is also tied for first among freshmen in the country.
• His breakout game of the year came against Vermont (2/18/23), stopping 20 shots, only allowing 14 goals.
• Lenskold also had 14 saves in Utah's game at Johns Hopkins (2/25/23), allowing just 12 goals.
• His 20 saves against the Catamounts was a school record for single-game saves and is the fourth-most in the NCAA this year.
• The 20 stops also ranks as the second-most by a freshman in the NCAA this season.
MCMAKIN IT HAPPEN
Junior attackman
MJ McMahon has been a consistent threat on offense for the Utes since he stepped foot on campus in 2020, recording 57 points on 39 goals and 18 assists.
• Through 35 career games, McMahon ranks fifth in career points (57), goals (39) and assists (18).
• He has scored two-or-more points in three of Utah's four games this season, including a season-high three (2 goals, 1 assist) vs. Marquette (2/11/23) and against Johns Hopkins (3 assists).
• Prior to Utah's season opener against Denver (2/4/23), he had scored at least a point in 19 straight games (at Mercer, 4/27/21 – vs. Robert Morris, 5/7/22).
• He has scored at least a point in 29 of the 35 games he has appeared in.
STINES CLIMBS THE CHART
Redshirt freshman
Ryan Stines has scored six goals through four games in his first season on the field for the Utes, starting all four games as well.
• He is in pursuit of the freshman record for single-season goals, which sits at 20 (
Jordan Hyde, 2021).
• Stines has scored at least one goal in all four games this season, including two goals in the last two (vs. Vermont, at Johns Hopkins).
• He also has two man-up goals this year, which is the most in the ASUN by a freshman, and third-most in the league overall.
CAREER HIGH TRACKER
Through just four games this season, several Utes have earned important career highs for their stat sheets.
• Junior
Jared Andreala scored a career-high four goals against Marquette on five shots on goal (.714). It passed his previous career-high of three goals that was set against Detroit Mercy last season.
• Junior midfielder
Koa Todd notched his second-career multi-goal game with a career-high tying two goals against Marquette.
•
Joey Boylston tied his career-best in caused turnovers against Johns Hopkins, recording two.
• Sophomore defenseman
Colby Plotts scored a career-best two goals in the game vs. Marquette on just two shots on goal.
• Junior attackman
Tyler Bradbury secured a career-high tying four ground balls vs. Marquette.
TEAMWORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK
Utah has recorded 29 assists in four games, averaging 7.25 per game.
• The Utes posted a season-high 12 assists in their win over Marquette on Saturday, Feb. 11, ranking as the third-most assists in a game at Utah all-time.
• It marked the eighth time under the direction of McMinn that the Utes have had 10-or-more assists in a game.
• Through four games in 2023, the Utes rank 28th nationally and second in the ASUN in assists per game (7.25).
• Also through four games, Utah has 43 goals with 29 assists, giving Utah an assist on 67% of its goals.
YEAR 5
The Utes are in their fifth year as a Division I program after making the transition from a club team in 2019. Utah is 23-27 all-time as a Division I team with 10 of those wins coming last season under the direction of head coach
Andrew McMinn.
• Utah won the ASUN regular season title in 2022 after its first year in the league.
• McMinn has a career record of 87-72 and a record of 11-7 at Utah, needing one more win to become the all-time wins leader at Utah.
• McMinn led the Utes in 2022 to 42 school records while finishing the season ranked first in the ASUN in six different categories.
THE CAPTAINS
Prior to the 2023 season, Utah selected its three captains for the season in
Josh Rose,
Samuel Cambere and
Tyler Bradbury. Cambere and Bradbury were also captains in 2022 with Cambere also serving as a captain in 2021.
• Bradbury and Cambere earned 2022 ASUN Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year honors during Utah's first year in the league.
• The trio has combined for 112 career games and 64 starts.
PRESEASON PRAISE
For the second straight year in the ASUN Conference, the coaches have voted for the Utes to win the league. Utah tied with Air Force for the top spot in last season's preseason poll, earning the spot outright in 2022. Utah is coming off an undefeated regular season conference slate in 2022, winning the regular season title.
SENIORS
Utah enters the 2023 season with seven seniors on the roster, including
Branden Wilson,
Samuel Cambere,
Cole Brams,
Zack Johns,
Ruben Santana,
Zach Chandler and
Dominic Mata. Wilson, Santana and Cambere have played in the most games on the team with Wilson and Santana appearing in 45 and Cambere seeing action in 46.
TOP SPOT
Utah finished last season ranked first in the ASUN in assists per game (8.79), clearing percentage (.911), faceoff win percentage (.536), ground balls per game (31.93), points per game (22.43), scoring margin (+2.29) and scoring offense (13.64).
Tyler Bradbury also led the ASUN in assists per game (2.36) with
Cole Brams leading the league in faceoff win percentage (.557) and ground balls per game (7.93) and
Jordan Hyde toping the conference in shot percentage (.465).
ROAD WARRIORS
The Utes will play seven road games this season, traveling a total of 8.771.4 miles – including their 2,165-mile trip to New Jersey this week.
