SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah track & field team readies this week for the 113th running of the Drake Relays (April 28-29) at the world famous blue oval while also sending a small contingent up north to compete at the Bengal Invitational (28-29).

CBS Sports Network will also provide a live two-hour national broadcast from Drake Stadium with Brent Stover, Shannon Rowbury, Lewis Johnson and Brad Wells calling the action from 1-3 p.m. (MT) / 2-4 p.m. (CT) on Saturday, April 29, in addition to the live stream.

MOVING ON UP
After another big weekend of competition, Utah moved up two spots in the latest USTFCCCA TFRI National Poll to check in at No. 23 and has now been ranked inside the top-25 consecutive weeks for the first time in program history. It is just the third week in school history that the Utes have been ranked in the top-25.

OFF THE BLOCKS
Drake Relays week will see the Women of Utah send 19 competitors to the famed blue oval as it sets out to compete for the coveted Hy-Vee Cup. In addition, Utah will send a small contingent consisting of
Maren Busath,
Caroline Fischer,
Delaney Gates,
Erin Palmer,
Maddie Reed,
Claire Rusovick and
Chloe Shewell to the Bengal Invitational up in Pocatello, Idaho, during the same time.

Utah took fifth-overall in the cup standings last season at Drake Relays with 16 points after winning the 4x400m relay, taking second in the DMR, fifth in the 4x800m relay and fifth in the SMR.

LAST TIME OUT
Utah had yet another successful weekend on the track this past Friday and Saturday and was kicked off by
Emily Martin running the sixth-fastest time at Utah with a run of 55.05 (aa) in the 400m dash at the Robison Invitational. A few hours later on the Farm,
Emily Venters went out and ran the second-fastest outdoor 5k in program history with a mark of 15:26.30 at the Payton Jordan Invitational. Venters' mark was the fastest time among all collegians at the meet and is the third-fastest time in the NCAA so far this season.

Karli Branch capped the weekend off for Utah after she moved up one spot to No. 5 on the all-time list in the 3000m steeplechase with a run of 10:53.30 (aa) on Saturday.

UP NEXT
The Utes will now get a couple weeks of rest before it heads back down to Southern California for the Pac-12 Outdoor Track & Field Championships (May 12-14) – which is hosted at Hilmer Lodge Stadium.
