Three Utes placed on CSC Academic All-District Team

SALT LAKE CITY –The University of Utah Women's Tennis program landed three student-athletes on the 2022-23 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team, with Anastasia Goncharova, Samantha Horwood and Madison Tattini being honored.
Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 1. All three student-athletes are receiving their first Academic All-District recognition of their careers.
Goncharova, a senior from Evanston, Ill., graduated with her bachelor's degree in sociology. She played in all 24 matches and posted a 13-7 singles record with the majority of her wins coming at the No. 4 spot in the lineup. She and partner, Tattini, posted an 8-8 record in singles action, all at the No. 1 spot in the line up.
Horwood, a sophomore from Toronto, Ontario, posted an 11-7 record in singles play, all at the No. 6 spot in the lineup. She competed in all 24 matches for the Utes. She and partner, Katya Townsend, posted an 11-11 record in the No. 2 spot in the lineup.
Tattini, a senior from Lexington, Ill., she had an 8-11 record in singles action on the year with seven wins coming at the No. 2 spot in the lineup. She and partner, Goncharova, went 8-8 in doubles play.
