 General
Utah clinched its sixth Women's College World Series appearance (fifth NCAA) and first since 1994. The Utes reached the AIAW World Series in 1976 and went on to reach the NCAA Women's College World Series in 1982, '85, '91 and '94.
The attendance of 3,093 reset a facility record for the Dumke Family Softball Stadium. It was the third straight day that Utah reset the facility attendance record.
 Utah
Utah is now 33-37 all-time in NCAA Tournament play, and has won three of its last four NCAA Tournament games when facing elimination.
Head coach Amy Hogue, the winningest leader in program history, is now 440-391-1 in her 16 seasons leading the Utes.
With the Game 3 win, Utah is now 42-14 on the season. It matches the 2000 team led by Mona Stevens for the most victories since that time.
Utah improved to 10-9 this season in games when opponents score first.
Senior Haley Denning had her third two-hit game of the Super Regional. In NCAA Tournament play she is 12-for-19 (.631) and now has a 16-of-29 clip (.551) dating back to the Pac-12 Tournament.
Denning stole second base during the second inning, recording her 100th career stolen base. It ranks third in recorded program history and places behind Molly McLean (114 from 1999-2002).
Senior Halle Morris contributed a pinch-hit, two-run single during the sixth inning. It was Morris' first hit since her two-run home run vs. No. 2 UCLA during the Pac-12 Championship on May 13; it was also Morris third straight hit in pinch-hit situations.
Junior Mariah Lopez struck out six San Diego State hitters during her five-inning start. It is the most strikeouts by a Utah pitcher when facing elimination in the NCAA Tournament since 2006 (Meghan Dyer, 10 vs. Indiana in Austin Regional).
Lopez's six strikeouts brought her to 36 in the NCAA Tournament, 201 on the season and 348 in her career.
Freshman Abby Dayton extended her career-long hitting streak to 13 games and on-base streak to 18 games. Both are the longest active streaks on the team.
Jacquez set a new season-high extending her hitting streak to nine consecutive games. Her on-base streak tied a season-best for the junior.
 San Diego State
SDSU fell to 22-26 all-time in NCAA Tournament play and made its first-ever appearance in an NCAA Super Regional.
The Aztecs are 28-6 in games when scoring first (last loss on May 5 vs. Loyola Marymount).
Junior Alexis Otero tripled during the fourth inning; it was the Aztecs' third of the NCAA Tournament and Otero's first triple with San Diego State.
Sophomore AJ Murphy doubled in the second inning—it brought Murphy to five hits during NCAA Tournament play.
Junior pitcher Allie Light retired the Utes 1-2-3 in the first inning; it brought Light to 10 straight Utah batters retired going back to her Game 1 outing in the Super Regional.
