Utes in the Pros: Preseason Week 2

SALT LAKE CITY – Battles for roster spots are continuing throughout the NFL with Week 2 of the preseason on the horizon. All told, 25 former Utah Utes are on NFL rosters with two weeks remaining in the preseason. Teams have until August 29 to trim their rosters to 53 players.

Thursday begins a stretch of five straight days with former Utes on the gridiron. As is common in preseason, some games are televised nationwide but most air only locally—check TV listings in your market for the most up-to-date schedules.

Cleveland heads out to Philadelphia for a Thursday night tilt at 5:30 p.m. MT on NFL Network; though the two missed each other in Salt Lake by one season, the Eagles' Britain Covey and Cleveland's Mohamoud Diabate are expected to cross paths.

Eric Rowe's Carolina Panthers will battle the New York Giants on Friday night, kicking off at 5 p.m. MT on NFL Network.

A full day of action awaits on Saturday with two games on NFL Network showcasing former Utes. Jacksonville is up in Detroit for an 11 a.m. MT kick, followed up with the Bears and Colts at 5 p.m. MT.

Nephi Sewell and the New Orleans Saints will be out in Los Angeles on Sunday, taking on the Chargers at 5:05 p.m. MT on NFL Network.

Then on Monday night, it's a quick trip for the Baltimore Ravens down to FedEx Field for a meeting with the Washington Commanders. Five former Utes are slated to suit up in the game.
