SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah men's basketball team is set to wrap up its non-conference slate this Saturday, Dec. 21, when it battles Iowa at 4 p.m. (MST) on Big Ten Network inside the Sanford Pentagon.
Chris Vosters will have the call alongside former Northwestern forward Shon Morris as the Runnin' Utes look to stay undefeated against the Hawkeyes on Big Ten Network.
AGAINST THE BIG TEN
Heading into Saturday's match-up, Utah is 94-116 all-time against the Big Ten Conference. But the Utes are 25-25 against the Big Ten if you remove the records against the four newest members of the league that were former members of the Pac-12 (Oregon, UCLA, USC, Washington) – which Utah had an all-time record of 69-91 against.
CHECKING OFF ANOTHER STATE
When the Runnin' Utes and Hawkeyes square off inside the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D., this Saturday, it'll mark the 38th state that Utah has played in ever as a program. Earlier in November, Utah marked off state No. 37 when it faced off against Mississippi State in Southaven, Miss.
THE LAW IS HERE
Since his return to the line-up, Utah center
Lawson Lovering has played well for the Utes averaging 11.4 points and 6.4 rebounds while shooting .658 from the floor. The 7-0 big man has reached double-figures in four of five games to go with a season-high 16 points and 1.6 A/TO ratio for the Utes since his return.
LET THE BIG DOGS EAT
Per the Stat Train,
Gabe Madsen is tied for second among Power 4 Conference players with 25+ through games on Dec. 17 with four.
