LEXINGTON, Ky. – After a stellar sophomore season,
Kamryn Gibadlo has become the 16
th Utah Volleyball player to earn All-America honors, as announced by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) on Wednesday morning. After a unanimous All-Big 12 First Team selection, Gibadlo collected an AVCA All-Region (West) selection, before adding AVCA All-America Honorable Mention to her list of honors.
"Kamryn being named All-American Honorable Mention is such a great honor for her and for the Utah Volleyball program," said head coach
Beth Launiere. "She worked hard and had a great year leading our program back to national prominence."
Gibadlo started all 31 matches for the Utes, appearing in 111 sets, leading the Utah offense on multiple fronts with 22 double-digit kill matches, putting away 370 total kills and averaging 3.33 kills per set. The Cave Creek, Ariz. native, recorded double-digit kills with a .300+ hitting percentage 12 times this season.
In 22 matches against AVCA top-100 opponents, Gibadlo posted a .259 hitting percentage, averaging 3.49 kills per set. Gibadlo set a new career-high in kills multiple times this season, establishing her current mark on the road at Colorado with 20 kills. A threat from the service line, Gibadlo leads the Utes with 40 aces. With seven aces against BYU, Gibadlo established a new career-high against the Cougars in front of a record-setting crowd at the Huntsman.
Gibadlo is among 10 athletes to represent the Big 12 of the 97 women's volleyball players named to the All-America list. She is the first Ute to earn All-America honors since
Madelyn Robinson was an honorable mention award winner in 2022.
Off the court, Gibadlo recently secured her first College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors.
