Utes in the Pros: Week 17

SALT LAKE CITY – A week packed full with the holidays will likewise be packed with Pro Utes action on the gridiron. Nineteen alumni of the Utah Football program are expected to suit up in Week 17 of the NFL's regular season and a total of 28 Pro Utes are on rosters throughout the league.

Playoff races are heating up, with just one week remaining in the regular season after this slate of games. Buffalo has clinched the AFC East, while Baltimore is tied for the AFC North lead but both teams have cliched a playoff berth. Britain Covey's Eagles are playoff-bound in the NFC, as are the Detroit duo of Tim Patrick and Sione Vaki.

Two more Utah alumni are in playoff contention via the sidelines. The AFC West belongs to Kansas City with Alex Whittingham on the staff as defensive quality control coach. If the season ended today, Washington would make the playoffs with Brian Johnson guiding the Commanders as assistant head coach and offensive pass game coordinator.
