LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Utah softball team was among those receiving votes in the final USA Today/NFCA Top 25 poll of 2024, which was released on Tuesday.
The Utes achieved this status thanks to a strong finish in 2024 in which they won 13 of their last 16 regular season games, including a streak of four consecutive triumphs over ranked opponents. They followed that with a run in the Pac-12 Tournament that saw them knock off No. 22 Oregon and No. 8 Stanford to earn a place in the tournament final. The Utes were then selected for a spot in the NCAA Durham Regional, their second consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance, before concluding the season at 35-22.
This makes consecutive years in which the Utes have been part of the NFCA's final set of rankings. The Utes ended 2023 as the No. 8 team in the organization's top 25.
