CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Former University of Utah softball All-Pac-12 and all-region infielder
Julia Jimenez has officially signed a contract with the Coastal Bend Tidal Wave of Women's Professional Fastpitch, it was announced on Monday.
Jimenez becomes the 10th former Ute to earn the chance to compete professionally, a list that includes coach
Amy Hogue, who played for the Durham Dragons in 1994, and Hannah Flippen and Anissa Urtez, who are preparing for another year with Athletes Unlimited.
The California native recently completed a collegiate career that included three seasons with the Utes in which she hit .296 across 168 games with 25 homers and 144 RBIs. In each of her first two years in Salt Lake City, Jimenez was an All-Pac-12 and All-Pacific Region selection, earning spots on the all-conference and all-region first-teams in 2022. She was also an All-Pac-12 Tournament pick in 2023 while helping lead the Utes to the first-ever Pac-12 Tournament Championship, as well as an appearance in the Women's College World Series. In 2024, her 40 RBIs put her among the team's leaders in that statistic.
