LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Utah softball team had 10 of its student-athletes honored on Wednesday when the National Fastpitch Coaches Association released its list of All-American Scholar Athletes.
The list of Utes who earned recognition consisted of
Stella Bennett,
Haley Denning,
Chloe Doyle,
Julia Jimenez,
Sarah Ladd,
Kendall Lundberg,
Leilani Melendez,
Raci Miranda,
Shonty Passi and
Hailee White. The Utes were also recognized with one of the NFCA's team GPA awards thanks to their 3.41 Team GPA.
The rankings and honors recognize the academic prowess of softball teams across the Association's membership categories. NCAA Division I led the way with 2,573 student-athletes earning a 3.5 grade-point average or higher for 2023-24. NCAA Division III followed with 2,285 and NCAA Division II with 1,510. NAIA and junior colleges came in with 873 and 808 student-athletes respectively. Five student-athletes from Penn State Brandywine earned recognition in the Other Four-Year category.
