Postgame Notes No. 12 Utah 22, No. 14 Oklahoma State 19 Stillwater, Okla. (Boone Pickens Stadium) Saturday, September 21, 2024 Kick: 3:05 p.m. CT | End: 6:41 p.m. Attendance: 52,202 (sellout)
 General
Utah is 4-0 on the season, reaching that mark for the second straight season and seventh in the Kyle Whittingham era (2008, '10, '15, '16, '17, '23, '24).
The Utes picked up their first-ever win against Oklahoma State, evening the all-time series at 1-1.
This represents Utah's first road win over a top-15 team since they won at No. 14 Stanford on Oct. 6, 2018.
Utah won the coin toss and deferred to the second half. The Utes defended the West goal to begin the game.
Today's game was the first since the 2023 Las Vegas Bowl that Utah was shutout in the first quarter. The last time it happened in a conference game for Utah was at Arizona on Nov. 18, 2023.
 Offense
True freshman quarterback Isaac Wilson made his second straight start. Wilson is the fourth quarterback in recorded program history to make multiple starts as a true freshman.
Wilson became Utah's first true freshman starting quarterback in recorded program history to beat an AP-ranked team. Previously, true freshmen to start for Utah were 0-3 against AP-ranked teams.
He is the second true freshman starter in Utah history to pass for 200-plus yards in his first two starts (Jordan Wynn in 2009).
Wilson ran a career-long 48 yards down the sideline in the third quarter.
Running back Micah Bernard set career-highs with 25 carries and 182 rushing yards. It gave Bernard his third-straight 100-yard rushing game this season and fifth of his career. Bernard is the first Ute with three straight 100-yard rushing games since Ty Jordan during the 2020 season.
Bernard's rushing total was the most by a Ute in a game since Zack Moss on Nov. 23, 2019 at Arizona.
Wide receiver Dorian Singer had seven catches for 95 yards and a long reception of 25 yards—all season-bests. His receptions and receiving yards were the highest total by a Ute receiver in 2024 in either statistic.
Tight end Brant Kuithe lined up out of the wildcat early in the second quarter and rushed one-yard for his fifth career rushing touchdown. Kuithe's last was an 11-yard rushing touchdown at USC on Oct. 9, 2021.
Utah's four successful fourth-down conversions are the most for the team since the game vs. Stanford on Nov. 12, 2022.Â
Kuithe's 45-yard touchdown catch in the fourth quarter represented his longest reception of the season and also made him the first Ute to register a rushing and receiving score in the same game since Jaylen Dixon against Oregon State on Oct. 1, 2022.
Kuithe's TD catch was also the 20th of his career, tying him with Carl Harry for third-most in program history and his 74 receiving yards push him past Dres Anderson and into sole possession of fifth place in school history in career yards through the air.
Kuithe's 74 receiving yards are a new season-high for him in 2024 and he now has at least one reception in 36 straight games he has appeared in.
Wide receiver Money Parks has caught a pass in 28 straight games.
 Defense
Nickel back Smith Snowden has defended five passes (4Â PBU, 1 INT) in the last two games.
Snowden earned his second PBU of the game during the second quarter and would later add a third; it's his first game as a Ute with multiple PBU.
Safety Alaka'i Gilman came up with a third-down stop via an interception in the second quarter. It was Gilman's first interception as a Ute, and first since Oct. 13, 2023 at Colorado, while Gilman played for Stanford.
Elijah Davis collected his second career interception in the fourth quarter, giving Utah multiple picks in consecutive games for the first time since 2022.
Van Fillinger's fourth-quarter sack gives him at least one quarterback takedown in all four games in 2024, the longest such streak of his career and he's now matched his career-high of 5.5 sacks on the season.
The Utes limited OSU to just 48 yards on the ground, the Cowboys' lowest total since Nov. 21, 2015.
 Special Teams
Kicker Cole Becker drilled a season-long 43-yard field goal early in the second quarter.
Becker's three made field goals tie a career-high, the fourth time in his career he's reached that benchmark.
Becker's 10 total points in Stillwater pushed him over the 100-point mark as a Ute and he ended the day with 106 in his Utah career.
