IN THE RANKINGS
After an idle weekend, the Women of Utah remain at No. 14 in the latest USTFCCCA National Polls. The No. 14 ranking is the highest mark for the Utes through week 1 in program history and have been ranked in 25 of the last 26 weeks dating back to week 3 of the 2021 season. The lone week that the Utes missed out on being ranked in the top-30 was week 7 of 2022 heading into the NCAA Championships – which was ultimately Utah's best finish at the championships (12th).
Nationally, Utah is 1-of-5 programs ranked from the Big 12 that include, #7 BYU, #14 Utah, #16 Oklahoma State, #27 Colorado and #30 Iowa State. The Utes are also 1-of-7 teams from the mountain region to be ranked.
FROM THE BOX
This Friday will serve as the sixth time the Women of Utah have competed at the Nuttycombe Invitational all-time and the third-straight season it has competed in the meet. The Utes have had a pair of top-10 finishes as a team at the Nuttycombe with the 2016 squad posting the best finish as a team at seventh with the 2022 team finishing eighth. Individually, Grayson Murphy owns Utah's best finish and time at the Nuttycombe with a runner-up mark in 2017 (19:39.4) while Emily Venters came in sixth to pace the 2022 squad.
