Softball America Names Hailey Maestretti to Freshman Watch List

Maestretti earns second preseason honor
SALT LAKE CITY – Just days after being named to the D100 Freshman Watch List, Utah freshman pitcher Hailey Maestretti earned a spot on the Softball American Freshman Watch List, which was published on Tuesday.
Maestretti is about to embark on her freshman season in Salt Lake City after a prep career in which she accumulated a list of honors that included earning the title of 2023 Gatorade Player of the Year in Colorado. The Parker native was chosen as an All-American by Extra Inning Softball and MaxPreps and helped her program capture consecutive state championships. Her efforts were also rewarded with three 4A Player of the Year awards, one of which came after she spent the 2023 season pitching over 200 innings, crafting a 2.24 ERA and batting .392.
Maestretti and her teammates have their sights set on Feb. 7, which will be the first day of the team's 2025 campaign, when they'll square off against Minnesota at the Kajikawa Classic in Arizona.
