VENTERS MAKES WORLD TEAM
Former Utah All-American Emily Venters earned a spot to represent Team USA at the upcoming World Athletics Cross Country Championships in Tallahassee, Fla., at Apalachee Regional Park on Saturday, Jan. 10. Venters secured her first spot with Team USA at a global event after finishing fifth-overall at the USATF Cross Country Championships this past Saturday with a run of 34:20.7 on a muddy afternoon at Glendoveer Golf Course in Portland, Ore. She'll be joined by 2026 incoming freshman Riley Innes at the championships – who will represent Team Canada in the U20 race.

Emily Junginger will be vying for a spot to represent her native land of Germany at the World Cross Country Championships as she gets ready to compete at the SPAR U20 European Cross Country Championships this Sunday, Dec. 14, in Lagoa, Portugal. Meanwhile, former Utah All-American Poppy Tank will be representing Team Great Britain & Northern Ireland in the women's senior race as she looks to make the world team once again.

The U20 race (4450m) is slated to start at 2:30 a.m. (MST) on Sunday, Dec. 14, while the senior women's race (7470m) is schedule to begin at 5 a.m. (MST).

A trio of Utah cross country and track & field alumnae have qualified for the U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials after posting times below the required standard this past Sunday in Sacramento, Calif., at the 2025 California International Marathon.
