DES MOINES, Iowa – The Utah track & field team's 4x1600m relay squad placed third on Friday at Drake Stadium in the 115th edition of the Drake Relays, finishing with a combined time of 19:21.30 – which was good for the second-fastest time in program history.

Clara Mayfield opened up the race for Utah and stayed with the lead pack. She was in second for most of her leg before handing the baton off to freshman
Lauren Ayers at the 4:49.99 mark in third place. The freshman would hold the third position for Utah during her stretch of the run before passing the baton to
McKaylie Caesar with a split of 4:50.83.

Caesar did her best to keep the Utes within striking distance of Notre Dame and Oregon State during her leg of the race and handed it off
Bri Rinn with a split of 4:53.73 in the third position as well.

Rinn did her best to work her way towards the leaders but ultimately crossed the finished line in third for the Utes with the fastest split among the team at 4:46.76.
