COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Utah Volleyball Associate Head Coach
Alyssa D'Errico has been named an assistant coach for
USA Volleyball's Girls' U19 National Team this summer.
"Alyssa has worked hard building a resume within USA Volleyball, and this opportunity is a result of many years of sharing her knowledge with young people," said Utah Volleyball head coach
Beth Launiere. "She is a great coach and role model, and has much to offer USA Volleyball. There is no greater honor and opportunity than to be able to represent the USA while coaching the sport you love!"
D'Errico will join a prestigious group of fellow college coaches including head coach Keegan Cook (Minnesota), assistant coach April Sanchez (New Mexico), and performance analyst Jon Wong (Florida State), and will be joined by another Ute in
freshman Devyn Wiest starting June 1-7 for training camp in Colorado Springs.
"I'm excited she has an opportunity to work with Coach Keegan Cook," continued Launiere. "I worked with Keegan in 2019 when we took a CNT USA Team to the World University Games in Naples, Italy. I had a great experience working and coaching with him, and have no doubt Alyssa will have the same experience."
Training will pick up again for the U19 girls from June 26-30 in the Netherlands before turning their attention to defending their title in Osijek, Croatia and Belgrade, Serbia from July 1-14.
The U19 girls' team has been a force in the international volleyball scene for the U.S. having won gold in 2019 and 2023, and a bronze medal in 2021.
D'Errico is no stranger to USA Volleyball, having spent years as a pipeline coach that includes serving as an assistant on the 2020 Youth National Team, the summer training series assistant coach for the U17-18 National Team Development Program in 2023 and 2024, the spring training series assistant coach for the U17-18 NTDP in 2024, the spring training series head coach for the U18-U20 NTDP in 2025, and the U.S. Women's National Team Open Program evaluator in 2025.
As a four-time national champion and three-time team captain during her collegiate playing career at Penn State, D'Errico is familiar with high expectations and what it takes to be elite.
In just her second season with the Utes, D'Errico helped Utah Volleyball to their 19
th NCAA Tournament appearance and a final season ranking of No. 17 in the country in 2024.
