OKLAHOMA CITY – Utah catcher
Kennedy Proctor was named a First-Team Freshman All-American by D1Softball when the publication released its Freshman All-American squads on Thursday.
A native of Rancho Santa Margarita, California, Proctor spent her first season of collegiate softball establishing herself as one of the most talented young hitters in the Big 12. In conference competition, she finished sixth in the league in RBIs, eighth in slugging and tied for 10th in homers. She also batted .356 against Big 12 opponents with an OPS of 1.095 and her total of eight multi-RBI games ranked second on the team. One of those multi-RBI performances came on March 28 against Houston, when she belted two home runs. That showing would lead to her becoming the first Ute ever named Big 12 Player of the Week on April 1.
