THIS WEEK
The No. 24 Utah Golf team heads north to Bermerton, Wash. to compete in the Tindall after opening the season at home in
the Wohali.
Utah had an impressive first outing to tee off its 2025-26 campaign,
placing third as a team, and having Davis Johnson tie for the individual title, while Gabriel Palacios came in third as an individual.
Last year, head coach
Garrett Clegg and the Utes had
a record-setting season in 2024-25 earning four team titles and six individual crowns on their way to a No.17 final ranking. All three marks were program highs.
The Utes started last season ranked No. 54, climbing into the top 15 in October 2024 and later in the month the top 10- both markers were program firsts. Utah made one more appearance in the top 10 in February 2025 and were one of four Big 12 programs to finish the season inside the top 20.
Utah also made their fourth appearance in five years at the NCAA Regionals and finished inside the top three in seven of their 13 total tournaments last year.
The Utes are off to a good start keeping the momentum going, returning four of five starters (Johnson, Palacios,
Sergio Jimenez, and
Brandon Robison) while moving from No. 25 to start the season to No. 24.

COACHES THOUGHTS
"I felt like we performed ok in our first event, but not our best," said head coach
Garrett Clegg of last week's Wohali performance to open the 2025-26 season. "We have a lot more in the tank."
"We know Gold Mountain well and are excited to be competing tomorrow, "continued Clegg of the Tindall. "This will be a tough challenge. This golf course is not easy. It has rained a little overnight and softened up, but it isn't a simple course."
TOURNAMENT DETAILS
The Tindall will cover 54 holes across two days with 36 holes being played on Monday, Sept. 22, while the final 18 concludes the tournament on Tuesday, Sept. 23.
