CANFRANC, Spain – Former Utah cross country and track & field All-American Grayson Murphy will don the Red, White and Blue once more as she runs for Team USA at the 2025 World Mountain and Trail Running Championships this Friday, Sept. 26, in the short trail 45k event.

live results. Friday's race is set to begin at 7:40 a.m. (GMT +2) local time / 11:40 p.m. (MDT).
The short trail 45k event will start and finish at the railway station in Canfranc, Spain, which also serves as the site of the annual CanfrancCanfranc Marathon. Competitors will traverse through the picturesque Spanish Pyrenees terrain and climb a total of 3,657 meters in elevation throughout the race.
Racers will first make an ascent of nearly 1,500m in a span of 6km to La Moleta before climbing another 990m of elevation through the black pine forest before reaching the Larraca Mountain. They'll then cross the French border through the Loma Verde area before descending from Collado Estiviellas and go through 122 curves on their way to the finish line at Canfranc Railway Station.
Murphy is a two-time World Mountain Running Championship (2019, 2023) and five-time USATF Mountain Running Champion (2019, 2021, 2023, 2024), bringing home multiple medals in 2023 after capturing the vertical mountain running title. The banner year in 2023 also saw her become the only athlete to capture two medals at the world championships after taking third place in the vertical discipline as well.
