The Indoor track season is in full swing for the Women of Utah starting with the Snake River Open on Friday.
SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah track & field team is full steam ahead with the indoor season as it opens up the calendar year at the Snake River Open this Friday, Jan. 16, inside the ICCU Dome.

The Women of Utah will send 18 competitors to their first meet of the 2026 calendar year as indoor season hits full swing at the Snake River Open. Of the group, Maria Alvarado and Mackenzie Rogers will be making their debuts with Utah while Cloe Ruth will compete in her first collegiate indoor track race.

TRIO OF UTES AT WORLD XC CHAMPS
The Utah cross country program was well represented at the 2026 World Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Jan. 10, in Tallahassee, Fla., Incoming freshman Riley Innes competed for Team Canada in the women's U20 race and finished with a time of 23:02. In the senior women's race, Poppy Tank crossed the finish line at 34:39 in the 10k race for Great Britain & Northern Ireland while Emily Venters was right behind at 34:48 for Team USA.

The Utes will get a week off before a busy weekend awaits them at the end of the month with the team split between three different meets in three different states with the UW Invitational (Seattle, WA), New Mexico Open (Albuquerque, NM) and Speed & Power Meet (Logan, UT).
