SEATTLE / ALBUQUERQUE / LOGAN, Utah – The Utah track & field team had a fantastic start to the weekend on Friday between the three meets across three different states led by
Erin Vringer breaking the 3000m record while
Chelsea Amoah broke her own 200m record.

Utah's day in the PNW started off hot in the 3000m race
Josie Fale winning her section of the race with a run of 9:17.37 – which wound up being the third-fastest time of the day. In her first race of the season,
Katarzyna Nowakowska claimed victory in her section of the 3000m run as well after posting the top-time in the event with a PR mark of 9:10.40 – which also bumped her into No. 6 all-time at Utah.

In the same heat as Nowakowska, Annastasia placed sixth-overall after crossing the finish line at 9:19.92 for a new personal in the event.
Mackenzie Rogers made her Utah debut after sitting out the cross country season and had the 10th-fastest time in the event with a PR run of 9:23.07. Freshman
Emily Junginger made her collegiate indoor track debut with a second-place finish in her heat behind a run of 9:23.86 and 13th-overall.
Lindsey Peters was right behind her for a top-15 finish time of 9:24.00.

Later on,
Bri Rinn just missed out on capturing the 800m crown when she and Boise State's Kaiya Robertson had a photo finish at the line and posted a PR time of 2:05.15 – which moved her up one spot to No. 2 on the all-time list at Utah.
Kyla Martin placed fourth-overall in the 800m race after crossing the finish line at 2:06.71.
Millie Wilcox (2:09.25) and
Madi Hulsey (2:09.32) also picked up top-10 finish, placing eighth and ninth respectively.

Erin Vringer provided the fireworks to end the night in the 3000m invitational run and put on the afterburners with about 600m to go and cruised to a school-record breaking victory time of 8:48.26. Vringer's time sits at No. 8 all-time inside Dempsey Indoor and the top time by a collegian at the UW Invitational this century. Her time is only bested by professional runners dating back to the start of the century at this meet.

NEW MEXICO OPEN
Like the distance squad, the sprints team also got off to a blazing start in the ABQ.
Matejah Mangum opened up the day for Utah winning her section of the unseeded 200m dash with a run of 24.21 (aa) and finished second-overall. Her time of 24.21 (aa) saw her move up four spots on the all-time list from No. 9 to No. 5 at Utah.

Emily Martin saw herself move up one spot on the all-time list to No. 2 after winning the unseeded 400m dash with a PR time of 53.68 (aa)

Morgan Carter placed fourth-overall in the 600m run for Utah after finishing in 1:34.81 while teammate
Kait Durham recorded a time of 1:40.08. This was the first time competing the 600m run for both.

Chelsea Amoah and
Kinzlee Riddle posted a 1-2 finish for the Women of Utah in the 200m dash invitational event. Amoah took first-overall with her school record-breaking time of 23.39 (aa) – besting her own record set last year on Feb. 28, 2025. Meanwhile, Riddle finished third-overall with a PR time of 24.03 (aa) and saw herself bump up a couple spots to No. 4 all-time at Utah.

SPEED & POWER MEET
Glo Hussey was Utah's lone competitor in the pentathlon at the Speed & Power meet up in Logan, Utah. The Kodiak, Alaska., product finished the day with 2588 points thanks to wins in the high jump (1.66m) and long jump (5.24m).

Utah will wrap up the weekend at all three meets on Saturday with the distance squad busy in the mile at the UW Invitational while the sprints squad has a full day of events at the New Mexico Team Open. Meanwhile, freshman
Susmitha Jayanthi will be Utah's lone competitor at the Speed & Power Meet.
