SALT LAKE CITY— The Utah women's tennis team travels to Hawai'i to face the Rainbow Wahine on Feb. 6. This will be the first time Utah and Hawai'i have matched up since 2005.

SCOUTING THE Rainbow Wahine
The Rainbow Wahine rallied from behind to take a 4-3 win over Sacramento State on Friday, Jan. 23. Hawai'i first lost the doubles point when Sacramento State captured wins on the No. 1 and No. 3 courts. In singles action, Hawai'i's Greta Gull took the first doubles point to even the match at 1-1 with a 6-4, 6-1 win over the Hornets' Irene Riva at the No. 1 spot.Â
The 'Bows went on to lose at the No. 3 spot but held off the Hornets and capture three-straight victories to secure the win. The Rainbow Wahine are currently 2-1 on the season and are coming off a two-week break before facing the Utes.

LAST TIME OUT
The Utes swept their double-header against Utah State and Montana this past Friday (Jan. 30). The Utes beat Utah State 7-0 and Montana 6-1.
In doubles action,
Emma Kamper and
Emma Valletta saw wins in both matches with a 6-4 win over Utah State and a 6-1 win over Montana.
Hayley Roberts and
Dylan Lolofie also picked up a pair of wins with a 7-6 (5) win over Utah State and a 6-1 victory over Montana.
In singles,
Emmie Moore captured two wins—a 6-3, 6-1 win against Utah State, and a 6-3, 6-3 win over Montana.
The Utes are currently 3-1 on the season.
HEAD COACH RUTH ANN ALLEN
The Utah women's tennis team welcomedÂ
Ruth Ann Allen as head coach this past season. A Utah native and a Utah All-American and Hall of Famer, Allen returns to lead the program after a successful tenure as head coach at Weber State. She guided the Wildcats to a Big Sky Championship in 2023 and was twice named Big Sky Coach of the Year (2022, 2023).
Before Weber State, Allen spent 20 seasons as an assistant coach at Utah, where she helped the Utes secure multiple NCAA Tournament bids, two Mountain West Conference titles, and numerous top-five regional rankings. Allen, an All-American during her playing career at Utah, was inducted into the Utah Tennis Association Hall of Fame in 2023.

The Utes will have a home match against the Washington State Cougars (Feb. 14) and Denver Pioneers (Feb. 15) Valentine's Weekend before traveling to Seattle, Wash. to face the Washington Huskies.
