SALT LAKE CITY – After beginning Big 12 play with a road sweep of No. 21/22 Arizona State, the University of Utah softball team earned the No. 25 spot in Softball America's Top 25 poll, which was released on Monday. The Utes also received votes in the NFCA/GoRout and ESPN.com/USA Softball polls on Tuesday.
This is the first time the Utes have earned a national ranking since they were ranked for the first three weeks of the 2024 season.
The Utes garnered a top 25 spot thanks in large part to their current 11-game win streak that has them at 21-5, their best 26-game start since 2023. That streak includes the team's three-game sweep in Tempe, where they outscored the Sun Devils 35-11. Utah will attempt to continue building momentum during a three-game series at home against Abilene Christian, which will begin with a doubleheader on Wednesday scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
