DAY ONE RECAP
PHOENIX — Utah golf sits in ninth place at the Thunderbird Collegiate, 2-over par as a team after playing 36-holes in day one.
Senior Brandon Robison had the steadiest day out on the green for the Utes, carding 2-under on the day through two rounds of play.
Utah has one more round of 18 holes to play on Saturday to climb the leaderboard.
ROUND ONE STANDINGS
Robison had the most impressive leading 18-holes on the team, carding a 2-under 69 for a tie in eighth place.
Robison was the only Ute to be under par after the first round of play followed by Sergio Jimenez (2-over), Davis Johnson (3-over), Adam Croix (4-over), and Jack Jerge (6-over) rounding out the starting five.
Individually, freshman Ivan Enguita carded the best start to the Thunderbird with a 1-under 70, followed by fellow freshman Jan Farre (1-over), and junior Gabriel Palacios (3-over).
ROUND TWO STANDINGS
Robison continued to lead the way in round two, breaking even in the last 18 holes played, and carding 2-under for the entire 36 holes played in day two to finished tied for 19th place.
Johnson and Jimenez ended the day on even par but took different paths to the same result with Jimenez carding 2-under in the second round, while Johnson was 3-under 68. Both players finished day one play tied for 29th.
Jerge broke even after posting 6-over in the previous round, while Croix rounded out the starting five at 5-over in round two.
Utah's individuals continued to chip away with Enguita and Palacios carding an even par in round two, while Farre finished 2-over.
