This Weekend's Fan Experience Rundown
- Parking is free for all Utah Baseball home games. Fans may park in Lot 40, Lot 9 or Lot 1. Click here for a parking map. Please note that game parking is not permitted in the neighborhoods South of America First Ballpark or in the lot directly in front of the Salt Lake Sports Complex. Fans can also ride UTA free with a valid game ticket; both the No. 9 and 17 bus routes have stops directly outside America First Ballpark and the TRAX Red Line is close by as well.

The First Pitch: Things to Know
- Utah hits the midpoint of a seven-game homestand on Tuesday as the Utes welcome in-state foe Utah Valley for a contest on Charlie Monfort Field at America First Ballpark. It'll be the second of three non-conference meetings this season between the squads.
- The Utes won the first meeting over UVU, taking a 15-9 contest on March 31 in Orem. Cameron Gurney hit a grand slam in the ninth inning to put the game away while Jake Long had a three-RBI day, including a two-run homer.
- Gary Henderson's club is coming off a three-game sweep of Texas Tech this past weekend that saw Utah outscore the Red Raiders by a combined 28-8. It was Utah's first sweep as a member of the Big 12 Conference.
- Tech entered the series at Utah hitting a Big 12-leading .355 and scoring 10 runs per game--both second in the nation--and had been held under four runs just once in conference play. The Utah pitching staff stood tall and held the Red Raiders to a .271 clip for the weekend, along with three runs in both the series opener and finale, plus two in the middle game that Utah won by run rule.
- It was a team effort on the mound but was highlighted out of the bullpen by Justin Abercrombie, who made two appearances and dealt 3.2 scoreless innings. He had six combined strikeouts, no walks and allowed just a single. Demitri Diamant delivered 3.2 innings of shutout relief in the series opener, striking out six batters
- Freshman Cal Miller, a Davis County native from Centerville, Utah, was named Big 12 Conference Co-Newcomer of the Week on Monday. Miller batted .400 in the Texas Tech series with two home runs, including a 4-for-7 clip with runners on base.
- Entering this week, Utah is the only team in the Big 12 to have three players in the league's top 10 for batting average. It includes Long (6th; .375), Jet Gilliam (8th; .370) and Gurney (10th; .368). Long has enjoyed an incredible climb this year after hitting .268 a year ago.
- Gurney has been exceptional at first base in his redshirt junior season, stringing together a .482 OBP (ninth in Big 12). He ran up a 24-game on-base streak that came to an end last Sunday at ASU.
- Miller has proven to be very effective in his freshman campaign. He bats .351 from the left side, with 15 of his 40 hits going for extra-bases.
- Utah will cap off its homestand this weekend when it welcomes UCF to Salt Lake City for a three-game conference series.
