"I chose the University of Utah because there is no better environment for me to excel in both athletics and academics," said Mackie. "The quality of support is unmatched and I am really looking forward to continuing my development as an elite athlete and student."
Mackie's 2026 season also included an individual title in the 20K freestyle mass start during the U23 World Championships. Her World Cup slate included the Tour de Ski, which saw Mackie finish 12
th.
During the 2025 circuit, Mackie claimed bronze at the FIS Junior World Championships in both the 10K freestyle interval start and 20K classic mass start, as well as fourth in the classic sprints. It made Mackie the first Canadian woman since 1989 to medal at junior worlds.
