Utes remain undefeated against Air Force, 28-0

GREELEY, Colo.– Utah Volleyball recorded its sixth sweep of the 2026 season against the Air Force Academy and remains undefeated in three-set matches on the year.

The Utes' defeat of the Falcons (25-14, 25-20, 25-19) moves Utah to 28-0 all-time against AFA.

Additionally, Utah broke its service ace in three sets record it set earlier in the season against Wyoming, going from 8 to 9.

SET ONE
Utah jumped out to a 7-4 lead over Air Force with an exclamation ace from Katelynn Field. The Utes quickly proceeded to extend their lead 11-5 off a kill from Loryn Helgesen.

An attack error from the Falcons gave Utah a 15-10 lead and sent the set into the technical timeout.

Out of the break, the Utes continued to race ahead of Air Force, aided by back-to-back Isabelle Marco aces, back-to-back Ashley West kills, and a Levani Falatea ace to give the set to Utah, 25-14.

SET TWO
The following set started slower and built up into a close affair with Air Force taking a 3-0 lead before Utah put points on the board.

The Utes tied the set up at 8 off a Falcons' attack error before taking the lead off an ace from Sierra Grizzle, 9-8.

Air Force tied the set up again at 14, but Utah took a 15-14 lead near the midway point from another West kill.

Utah and Air Force continued to battle within one of each other down the stretch until an attack error from the Falcons and a kill from Princess Atamah gave the Utes a 20-17 advantage.

The Falcons chipped away at Utah's small lead out of a timeout, bringing the score back to within one, 20-19, but Atamah rocketed back-to-back timely kills to give the Utes some wiggle room, 22-19.

Kamryn Gibadlo threw down a block to get the Utes to set point before putting a kill on the board to take set two, 25-20.

SET THREE
A service error from Air Force put the Utes on the board first in set three with kills from Gibadlo and Lana Mijacic making it a 3-2 game. Two Falcon attack and two service errors later, Utah took a 9-4 advantage, forcing Air Force to call a timeout.

The Falcons came out of their timeout rejuvenated and tied the set up at 9, going on a 5-0 run.

Air Forces reign in set three did not last long with Utah going on a run of its own to take a 17-12 lead down the stretch.

Olga Musial checked into the set and recorded her first college stat; a kill to give the Utes a 20-15 lead.

Kills from Allie Grossenbach and Suttyn Harris gave the match win to Utah, 25-19.
