• In its first-ever meeting with the Panthers, Utah moved to 1-0 all-time against PVAMU.
• Utah close out non-conference play at home with a 7-1 record inside the Huntsman Center. The Utes are 40-3 in non-conference play over the past five seasons.
• The Utes led 52-25 at halftime. Utah shot a season-best .714 (20-of-28) percent from the field, which included going 4-of-8 (.500) from the three-point arc and 8-of-13 (.615) from the free throw line.
• The Panthers were limited to just 10-of-30 (.333) shooting in the first half. PVAMU was just 1-of-11 (.091) from downtown over the first 20 minutes.
• Utah’s 52-point first-half effort was its second-highest point total in any half this season. The Utes scored 53 against Coppin State (11/18).
• Kyle Kuzma led all players at the break with 13 points and eight rebounds. He also led the team with six assists at the break.
• David Collette made his Utah debut tonight and scored the Utes’ first two points of the game. He tallied six points in the first half.
• Sedrick Barefield made his first appearance in a Utes uniform as well. He started fast pouring in 11 points on 4-of-7 shooting (3-of-5 3PT) in the first half.
• Utah outscored the Panthers 32-8 in the paint, 8-0 in second chance points and 11-2 in fast break points over the first 20 minutes of play.
• The Utes finished the contest shooting .593 (32-of-54) from the field, while limiting PVAMU to just a .318 (24-of-63) field goal percentage.
• Kuzma and Barefield tied for the team lead with 18 points. Kuzma led the Utes with 15 rebounds, notching his sixth double-double of the season.
• Barefield knocked down a team season-high five three-pointers on the evening. He is the first Utes to connect on five three-pointers this season and first player since Jordan Loveridge’s five trey’s against UCLA back on Feb. 18, 2015.
• Kuzma led the way with six assists. He has tallied three assists or more in six of Utah’s nine games.
