• Utah moved to 20-26 all-time against the Buffs. The Utes are now 14-8 all-time when facing Colorado in Salt Lake City.
• The Utes won its sixth straight game over Colorado. Utah’s last loss to CU was back on Feb. 1, 2014.
• The Utes have won eight consecutive home contests against Pac-12 opponents dating back to last season. Utah is 24-4 at home against Pac-12 teams dating back to the 2013-14 season.
• CU opened the game with a 10-2 run, but Utah managed to close the gap with a 12-4 run to notch things up early, 14-14. The Utes took its first lead, up 25-22, following a three-point play from sophomore Sedrick Barefield.
• Utah led 36-29 at the break, shooting .467 (14-of-30) from the field and holding CU to .414 (12-of-29) from the floor.
• Both teams shot under 40 percent from three-point range in the first half. Utah and CU both tallied three three-pointers each in the first 20 minutes.
• The Utes scored 14 points off 10 CU turnovers in the first half. Utah turned the ball over seven times in the first 20 minutes of play, which CU converted into 10 points.
• Barefield totaled four assists in the first half, which tied his previous season-high. He finished the game with a new season-high eight assists on the evening.
• Junior David Collette opened the game 2-of-2 from the field before missing his first shot. He had made 11 straight buckets dating back to the 2:42 mark against Hawaii back on Dec. 23. Collette totaled 14 points on 7-of-11 from the field.
• Junior Kyle Kuzma returned to the line-up after suffering an ankle injury in the first game at the Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic against San Francisco back on Dec. 22. Kuzma tallied six points in the first half (including a three-pointer) and finished the contest with 14 points.
• Senior Lorenzo Bonam did not score his first points until the 2:44 mark of the first half, but rattled off 10 points in the span of 4:24 from the end of the first half and the first few minutes of the second half. He led the team with 15 points on the evening.
• CU scored 10 of the first 12 points in the game to start the first half, but were limited to just two points in the first 4:35 of the second half.
• Utah’s 16-point win was the largest margin of defeat over the Buffs since a 79-51 win back on Feb. 7, 2015. The Utes won both of last season’s contests by two points in each game.
• The Utes are back in action next week with its first Pac-12 road games of the season. Utah will face Arizona on Thursday, Jan. 5 and then take on Arizona State Saturday, Jan. 7.
