Student-athlete leadership group that focuses on campus relations, community engagement and serves as a liaison between student-athletes and administration.
Freshman ED PS 2600 – Strategies for College Success
Student-athletes will have the opportunity to take EDPS 2600 in the summer or fall prior to their first year at Utah. This course is designed to expose student-athletes to the various levels of support and resources on campus, including library assistance, study skills, media training, nutrition, mental health, careers, financial strategies, etc. The goal of this course it to prepare student-athletes for academic success, in addition to providing a foundation and introduction to other resources to ensure the emotional and healthy wellbeing of each student-athlete during their student-athlete experience at Utah.
ED PS 2610 – Career & Life Planning
Student-athletes will have the opportunity to take ED PS 2610 in their senior or 5th year at Utah.
Freshman Athletic Leadership Themed Community (TC)
Student-athletes will have the opportunity to participate in an Athletic Leadership TC, which will be a housing arrangement during their first year at Utah. This housing community will expose student-athletes to four major components of student life – Community Engagement, Honors, Technology Initiatives and Health/Wellness. The goal of the TC is twofold. First, to integrate student-athletes to campus and expose them to diverse programming/opportunities that will continue through their experience at Utah. Second, to serve as ambassadors of Utah Athletics and to engage students with the hope of increasing general student involvement at athletics events.
Programming: Student-athletes will have the opportunity to participate leadership programming, in addition to cross programming with other TCs housed in the building. Each TC will have pillar events, and student-athletes will have the opportunity to participate in these events and broaden their student-athlete experience.
