Offense
Safety Sione Vaki checked in on offense during Utah's opening drive and took a direct snap, rushing for six yards and a first down. It was Vaki's first career offensive yardage as a Ute.
Running back Jaylon Glover had a 20-yard rush during the second quarter; it was one yard short of tying Glover's season-high.
Utah held scoreless in the first half; it is the first time the Utes have been shutout in a half since 2020 (second half at Washington) and first time it's occurred in the first half since the 2019 Alamo Bowl vs. Texas.
Defense
Oregon State's touchdown on its game-opening drive marked the first opening drive score for a Utah opponent since USC in the 2022 Pac-12 Championship.
Defensive end Jonah Elliss had a 10-yard sack late in the first quarter that also went as a third-down stop. Elliss now has at least 1.0 sack in three of five games this season.
Elliss is the first Ute since 2016 to have two-plus sacks in consecutive games (Hunter Dimick had 5.0 at Arizona State and 2.0 vs. Oregon the following week).Â
Linebacker Lander Barton broke up a third-down pass attempt during the second quarter; it was Barton's first PBU since the Florida game.
Safety Sione Vaki reset his career-high TFLs (previously 2.0 vs. UCLA in 2023 and at Colorado in 2022).
Fellow safety Cole Bishop made his second interception of the season (third of his career) during the fourth quarter. His last interception came at Baylor in Week 2.
Special Teams
Punter Jack Bouwmeester had a 52-yard punt early in the second quarter. Bouwmeester has sent nine of his punts for 50-plus yards this season.
