After competing with the team for four consecutive seasons as an alpine racer, Elisha Stephens returns to the team as a fifth-year assistant. Stephens will bring added depth and experience to a newly acquired alpine roster. She will assist the team with pre-racing preparation and downhill technical instructions.
While at Utah, Stephens was a two-time qualifier for the NCAA Skiing Championships and a three-time Academic All-American. She also racked up a combine nine top-15 finishes in the slalom and giant slalom. The downhill skier missed the majority of her junior season due to a knee injury acquired during the slalom event at the Nevada Invitational. After battling back from a potential career ending injury, Stephens managed to ski to a 19th-place finish in the slalom and 20th in the giant slalom at the 2005 RMISA Regional Championships.
Stephens is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in art with an emphasis in graphic design from the U. and is expected to graduate spring 2006. She will also be coaching with the Snowbird racing team and has plans of working in graphic design and incorporate illustration.
