2023 – Senior
- Pac-12 Spring Academic Honor Roll
- Made 20 appearances on the mound, all in relief.
- Finished with a 2-3 record in 31 innings, tallying 39 strikeouts.
- Fanned seven, his most as a Ute, during a three-inning appearance with no walks at BYU (April 18).
- Pitched 2.2 innings of two-hit, three-run ball on the way to the win vs. Washington State (April 29).
- Was the winning pitcher vs. New Mexico State (May 10) after dealing the final two innings.
- Season debut came during the win at UTSA (March 3).
2022 – Junior
- Worked primarily out of the closer role, finishing with a 2-2 record, five saves and a 4.13 ERA.
- Tallied 34 strikeouts in 31.2 innings on the mound.
- His five saves ranked top-nine in the Pac-12 and were the most by a Ute since 2019.
- Ranked third on the team both in ERA and opposing batting average (.254).
- Closed out both the middle and rubber games in his first Pac-12 series vs. Washington (March 12-13).
- Dealt 2.2 innings of shutout ball en route to the save vs. No. 20 Arizona (April 15).
- Longest outing was a four-inning win in extras at CSU Bakersfield (March 5), allowing a run on one hit and five strikeouts.
- First saves as a Ute both came against Fresno State on Feb. 25 and March 8.
Prior to Utah
- 2021 NJCAA Region 18 Relief Pitcher of the Year and All-Region 18 First Team (RP).
- Pitched during the 2020 and 2021 seasons at Salt Lake Community College.
- Went 4-0 with three saves and a 1.53 ERA in 14 appearances (one start) in 2021.
- Pitched 35.1 innings with 48 strikeouts and 10 walks, holding opponents to just a .179 batting average.
- Made seven relief appearances in 2020, finishing 2-0 with three saves and a 3.38 ERA.
- Had 17 strikeouts and two walks in his eight innings pitched.
Prior to College
- Starred at Oakdale High School under head coach Nate Gregory.
- High school accolades include All-League, All-State and an All-Star Game MVP award.
- Led his team to a VOL Conference championship.
- Was atop his conference with 102 strikeouts and a 0.78 ERA in 63 innings.
- Also played football and basketball in high school.
Personal
- Son of Jeffrey and Yvonne Whiting.
- Has three siblings, Boone, Brock and Bryce.
- Boone played pro baseball in the Colorado, St. Louis and Washington organizations.
- Served a mission in the Dominican Republic (2017-19) for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
