Jeremy LaPan begins his first season as an on-field graduate assistant after spending three years as a Utah football administrative assistant. LaPan will work with the linebackers, punt and punt return units this fall, as well as scout opponent offenses.Â
His first three years at Utah, LaPan provided administrative help for the tight ends, offensive line and special teams' coaches.Â
LaPan came to the U. after playing two seasons as an offensive tackle at Montana. The Grizzlies were the 2011 Big Sky champions and made the national semifinals in the FCS playoffs.Â
He played for Santa Ana College in 2008 and 2009 and was first-team all-Mission Conference and team captain in 2009. He initially signed with Utah State, redshirting in 2010 before transferring to Montana.Â
LaPan, 26, earned a bachelor's degree in sociology from Montana in 2012 and is currently taking graduate courses at Utah in educational counseling. The native of Garden Grove, Calif., was born Dec. 16, 1988.
