High School/Club: Competed and lettered for West High School senior year … Utah 6A State champion in the 200 Free (1:43.46) and 500 Free (4:39.28) in February 2020 … Swam club with Swim Utah ... Best time in the 500 free is 4:33.94 that came at the Winter Junior Championships West, as well as best time of 15:39.49 in the 1650 free … Competed at the Junior National Championships where he earned a personal best 1500 Free that qualified him to the Canadian Olympic Trials … Placed 1st in the 500 free at the 2018 Utah Swimming Senior Championships.
Personal: Son of Tom and Susan Winter … Father ran track at Duke and mother played netball at Saint Andrews, while his grandfather ran track at West Point … Has younger siblings Aeddan and Carys … Was in the National Honors Society in high school and was an athlete representative for Utah and USA Swimming … Chose Utah because it was close to home and had amazing athletic and academic opportunities … Enjoys Rubik’s cubes, hiking and spending time with family … Competed at the Rubik’s Cube Speedsolving National Championships during junior year of high school and posted best time of 13.98 seconds on a 3x3 cube.
