2024: Made 30 starts for the Utes and appeared in 35 total games, seeing action in the outfield and behind the plate...piled up 19 total hits, including four doubles and two homers with 12 runs scored...her five sacrifice hits were second-most on the roster...threw out four attempted base stealers, most on the squad, and finished third in putouts with 138...hit safely in each of Utah's first five games...blasted her first career home run on Feb. 23 in a win over CSUN...homered again on March 2 against Wisconsin...Set a career-high with three RBIs against Idaho State on April 21 in a victory over Idaho State.
2023: Saw action in 22 games, starting twice...picked up four hits with three RBIs and three runs scored with a stolen base...singled in a run in Utah's season-opening win over Stonehill on 2/10...scored twice and added another RBI on 2/12 at UC San Diego.
2022: Appeared in 19 games making seven starts... six starts in right field and one at first base... batted .208 (5-24) with one RBI, three walks and scored two runs... had one multi-hit game coming against San Diego (2/21) going 2-for-3 and drove in her first RBI... finished with a 1.000 fielding percentage and 12 putouts.Â
2021: Redshirted in her first season at Utah.
Prior to Utah: Four-year letterwinner and Scholar-Athlete at La Mirada High School where she earned all-league and was Suburban League MVP and Whittier Daily News Player of the Year... All-CIF Southern Section Division 2... compiled a career batting average of .427 with 25 doubles, 22 home runs and 98 RBI... .747 slugging percentage... travel team was the Firecrackers... also played soccer, earning defensive MVP and Coaches Award.
Personal: Daughter of Will and Leanna Melendez... has two older siblings, Anthony and Sienna, and one younger, Robert... Anthony is a sophomore at the U.S. Military Academy and plays on the rugby team.
